Owners Comments

Built in Portugal in 2015 and first sailed in Q1 2016. At the end of the season 2016, keel changed to get a different profile (and stiffer) with more weight. The keel received an additional “shoe” – done by Charlie Capelle in La Trinité. During the first half of 2017, mast height was increased. Starting 2018, new sails were developed based on knowledge of the two first seasons.

A very good campaign 2017 / 2018 and won the Fastnet overall in 2017. At the end of 2018, the decision was made to install two rudders to improve the boat for reaching and to re-paint inside – done by Charlie Capelle. Winter 2020 – new paint for all the deck and hull (2 coats of paint plus varnish). All equipment was removed for the painting and refitted with waterproofing. In addition, the running rigging was changed: the channels, a new mainsail traveller, some halyards, sheet (jib + mainsail+ spinnaker), etc.

Due to professional constraints, and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, XANABOO (formerly Lann Ael 2) did not race much.

Boat acquired by current owners in April 2022. Worked closely with North Sails UK (David Lenz) to design a new mainsail and new J1 and prepare for 2023 offshore season with fully amateur / Corinthian team preparing for Fastnet 2023. All halyards and running rigging replaced.

Boat is now performing in both light and heavier airs. From 15+kt wind speeds, the boat really takes off, separating from most competition with the robust form design stability off the breeze (hull design, double rudders, light weight).

She has been looked after meticulously, dry sailed from Cowes Yacht Haven since April 2022 with sails kept in dehumidified and heated container.
