Designed by Lutra, made by v1 Composites in Abu Dhabi in 2006 this 30ft racing yacht was part of the +39 Americas Cup Team and was based at their training camp in Valencia.
Since then it has been part of an elite racing school in Portugal and then brought back to the UK in 2019 to race in the HP30 Class. In 2019 the boat was fitted out for HP30 racing by adding a 2m bowsprit and new rod rigging was fitted by Advanced Rigging at HYS.
In 2020 the keel and hull were subject to a major refit with the keel removed, completely dismantled, the metal core treated and rebuilt by JW Creations in HYS. At this time the hull was sanded back to gel coat and the keel and hull up to the waterline sprayed with epoxy primer. To complete the refit a new set of sails was designed and built by Ultimate Sails based in HYS.
In 2022 the engine was serviced along with the 280 Saildrive which was treated to replacement gears and bearings. At the end of 2022 the rig was removed and the rod rigging serviced by Advanced Rigging.
The boat is currently under cover in HYS awaiting the warmer weather and is all ready to go racing.
The boat with an IRC rating of 1.086 is competitive in both the HP30 Class (1st in the July 2023 Royal Southern Regatta) and under IRC where it won the IRC1 Autumn Championships 2023.
