“ICY” is a proven race winner under IRC, and a superb mid-sized all rounder that is highly capable in ORCi and ORR as well. Her IRC credentials include:
- 1st IRC1 Cowes week
- 1st overall Class 1 Royal Southern Regatta
- 1st overall Class 1 Hamble Winter Series
- 1st Hamble Big Boat Series
The thought-process for the IC37 was always to put the power back into the hands of the owner on a platform that offers that big boat feel, but with a design that is easy to maintain and doesn’t require huge owner and crew input, particularly financially. The IC37 fills a substantial gap in the market for those sailors that are looking for fun, fast sailing, with potent rating performance and most importantly ease of use.
ICY is sold with two keels and a fully race tuned sail wardrobe from North Sails. She presents immaculately and is currently ashore in the UK. Quite simply, “ICY” is a huge amount of boat on offer at this price point.
Her IRC modifications include a deeper fin with a narrower chord length and a lighter bulb for the same righting moment. The bow sprit has been fixed with a composite bob stay, which can be converted back to class if needed. Other modifications from Class include sheet and spinnaker halyard reelers, full B&G H-5000 electronics with Triton displays, fully adjustable jib cars, vang moved, and spinnaker drop line moved aft. These mods have made the boat faster and more fun while maintaining the ease of sail. I was instrumental in these changes and sailed on her for two seasons so I will be happy to discuss the boat with you.
